<h3><span style="color:#0000ff;">Sobre Alegações de Saúde do FDA: </span>Alegações de saúde autorizadas pela Administração de Alimentos e Drogas dos Estados Unidos (FDA) são uma dentre várias maneiras que rótulos de alimentos podem atender às necessidades de consumidores preocupados com a saúde. O propósito de alegações de saúde é beneficiar consumidores pelo fornecimento de informações sobre hábitos saudáveis de alimentação que podem ajudar a reduzir o risco de certas doenças crônicas. Definida estritamente, uma alegação de saúde é uma alegação que, explicita ou implicitamente, caracteriza o relacionamento de qualquer substancia ou sua presença com uma doença ou condição relacionada à saúde. Desde 1990, somente 14 alegações de saúde foram autorizadas nos EUA.</h3>
<h3><span style="color:#0000ff;">A Alegação de Saúde sobre Proteína de Soja:</span> Os produtos alimentícios norte-americanso que contêm um mínimo de 6,25 gramas de proteína de soja por porção têm autorização para incluir uma das duas versões de alegação, um com o texto: “25 gramas de proteína de soja por dia, como parte de uma dieta pobre em gordura saturada e colesterol, poderá reduzir o risco de doença cardíaca. Uma porção de (nome do alimento) fornece ___ gramas de proteína de soja.” O outro rótulo de alegação que os fabricantes de alimentos nos Estados Unidos podem usar afirma que “Dietas baixas em gordura saturada e colesterol que incluam 25 gramas de proteína de soja por dia podem reduzir o risco de doença cardíaca. Uma porção de (nome do alimento) fornece ___ gramas de proteína de soja.”</h3>
<h3><span style="color:#0000ff;">Exigências Adicionais – Saúde do Coração:</span> Para satisfazer essa alegação, nos Estados Unidos, o produto precisa estar alinhado com as exigências de saúde cardíaca. Não poderá conter mais de um máximo de 3 gramas de gordura total, 1 grama ou menos de gordura saturada, um máximo de 20 mg de colesterol e um máximo de 480 mg de sódio.</h3>
<p><strong><span style="color:#0000ff;">Qualidade da Proteína, pesquisada desde 1967:</span></strong> A proteína de soja é uma proteína de alta qualidade, completa e de base vegetal, com qualidade protéica igual à da carne, leite e ovos. Na verdade, a proteína de soja tem a pontuação PDCAAS mais alta possível para uma proteína (1,0), sendo essa pontuação uma medida da sua digestibilidade e disponibilidade de aminoácidos essenciais.</p>
<p><span style="color:#0000ff;"><strong>Doenças Cardíacas, pesquisadas desde 1977:</strong></span> Os resultados de uma meta-análise de 38 estudos clínicos concluíram que o consumo da proteína de soja pode baixar o colesterol sangüíneo total e o colesterol LDL em comparação com o consumo de proteínas animais. A redução do colesterol sangüíneo LDL (“mau”) ajuda a reduzir o risco de doença cardíaca coronariana. Além disso, a proteína de soja pode ter um impacto no aumento do colesterol HDL (“bom”).<br />
A Associação Cardíaca Americana recomenda o consumo de proteína de soja (com isoflavonas naturalmente presentes) como parte de uma dieta saudável para o coração, para pessoas com colesterol total e LDL elevado.</p>
<p><em><strong><span style="color:#0000ff;">O Efeito Antioxidante da Proteína de Soja:</span></strong></em> O colesterol LDL oxidado é prejudicial às artérias. No entanto, pesquisas preliminares de laboratório sugerem que a isoflavona genisteina, um componente importante da proteína de soja, inibe a oxidação do colesterol LDL, levando à melhoria da saúde.<br />
<em><strong><span style="color:#0000ff;">Coagulação do Sangue:</span></strong></em> Coágulos sangüíneos são freqüentemente responsáveis pelo bloqueio completo de uma artéria já estreitada pela arteriosclerose. A amostra de 27 500 alunos do ensino básico revelou que <strong>apenas 12,4 por cento das crianças inquiridas fazem escolhas saudáveis na primeira refeição do dia.</strong> Os alimentos mais frequentes ao pequeno-almoço são o pão com manteiga (47 por cento), as bolachas (54,1 por cento) e a fruta (37,3 por cento). No caso das bebidas, é o leite com chocolate o preferido. Cerca de quatro em cada 10 bebem leite simples e 13,2 por cento acrescentam-lhe café.</span></em></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"> Perdi 28kg em<span>  </span>cerca de 9 meses<span>  </span>que mantenho até hoje e passei dum 54 de calças para um 42 o que fantástico.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;">O melhor de tudo é que hoje me sinto feliz com a minha imagem e auto-estima, com muita energia, mais vontade de viver,<span>  </span>os níveis de açúcar estão totalmente normais. Certo dia uma jovem, de idade inferior a 30 anos, foi atendida em um hospital de Brasília queixando-se de um quadro clínico bastante comum no quotidiano: crises fortes de cefaleia (dor de cabeça).

<h3 class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%;margin:0;">A mesma relatava já ter recorrido a vários profissionais da área médica, de inúmeras especialidades, de entre as quais destacou otorrinolaringologia, oftalmologia, neurologia, clínica médica e até endocrinologia, tendo sido submetida aos mais diversos tratamentos mediante a presunção de várias hipóteses diagnosticadas. Apesar disso, ainda que tantos cuidados fossem tomados, não tinha conseguido até aquele momento nenhuma melhora.</h3>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%;margin:0;" align="justify"> </p>
<h3 class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%;margin:0;">Ocorreu contudo que, durante a sua consulta, entre várias perguntas habituais, indagou-se sobre a quantidade de água que ela bebia por dia e com que periodicidade. A jovem respondeu que bebia pouquíssima água, porque não sentia sede, principalmente à noite. Terminada a consulta, foi assumida a conduta de suspender todos os medicamentos usados, orientando-a a tomar água adequadamente. Mesmo um tanto quanto descrente, ela voltou para casa disposta a empreender mais uma tentativa.</h3>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%;margin:0;" align="justify"> </p>
<h3 class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%;margin:0;">O tempo passou e, após apenas uma semana, ela voltou ao médico referindo que não sentia mais dores de cabeça, que o seu intestino funcionava melhor e que a sua disposição havia melhorado &#8230;. Milagre? Não. Bom senso, mudança e adequação de hábitos de vida. É amplamente conhecida a grande importância de uma ingestão adequada de água para a manutenção da saúde física do organismo, muito embora esse não seja um hábito mantido por grande parte das pessoas.</h3>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%;margin:0;" align="justify"> </p>
<h3 class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%;margin:0;">Todos os organismos vivos são compostos por 50% a 90% de água. O próprio corpo humano é constituído em 70% por água que, em constante movimento, hidrata, lubrifica, aquece, transporta nutrientes, elimina toxinas e intermedeia uma série de reacções químicas no corpo. Preconiza-se um número de 1 copo de 200ml de água por hora em que se estiver acordado.</h3>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%;margin:0;" align="justify"> </p>
<h3 class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%;margin:0;">Assim sendo, a ingestão de água deve ser independente da sede, constante e rigorosa. Cabe ainda ressaltar que não adianta deixar para tomar os 2 a 3 litros necessários diariamente de uma só vez, pois estudos mostram que o estômago capacita apenas 12ml/kg/hora, ou seja, um adulto não conseguirá tomar mais de um litro de uma só vez sem &#8220;passar mal&#8221;. De entre os efeitos mais comuns da falta de hidratação adequada estão:</h3>

<h3 class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%;margin:0;"><span style="color:#ff6600;">Distúrbio no aproveitamento adequado de vitaminas e sais minerais, com excesso em alguns lugares e falta em outros, levando a cãibras, dormências e perda de força muscular; </span></h3>

<h3 class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%;margin:0;"><span style="color:#ff6600;">Respiração dificultada, por vezes levando à falta de ar, sobretudo nos exercícios físicos; </span></h3>

<h3 class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%;margin:0;">Para saber se a quantidade de água consumida é a adequada, basta observar a cor da urina, que deve ser incolor. Quanto mais forte for essa coloração, menor é a ingestão de água que está a ser feita.</h3>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%;margin:0;" align="justify"> </p>
<h3 class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%;margin:0;">E mais uma curiosidade: há trabalhos científicos evidenciando que muitos tratamentos com medicações orais, sobretudo anticoncepcionais, terapia de reposição hormonal e anti-hipertensivos, não alcançam o devido sucesso em virtude da baixa ingestão de água por parte do paciente; isto deve-se tanto à má circulação da substância pelo corpo quanto à má absorção da mesma no intestino, processo este dependente da água como veículo de transporte.</h3>

<strong>Estudos mostram que a gordura hidrogenada é um dos piores males para a saúde, principalmente para o coração, tendo o percentual zero como limite para a presença de partículas no corpo humano.<br />

<strong>Desconfie dos alimentos sequinhos. Aqueles que são fritos, mas não ficam oleosos. A receita desse &#8220;milagre&#8221; chama-se gordura hidrogenada e, ao contrário do que pensa a maioria, faz muito mal à saúde.<br />
</strong><br />
<strong>Estudos recentes mostram que esse tipo de gordura é pior que a saturada &#8211; de origem animal &#8211; do ponto de vista cardiovascular. A causa: ela &#8220;plastifica&#8221; os vasos, levando a infartos e derrames.<br />

<strong>Quem garante é a endocrinologista Rosina Erthal Vilella, que pesquisa o assunto há anos e explica o mal que faz essa gordura, também chamada de &#8220;Trans&#8221;. O problema, segundo ela, é que os alimentos hidrogenados não se resumem a frituras. Biscoitos, sorvetes, chocolate, macarrão rápido, chips e temperos prontos fazem parte da lista.</strong></span></p>
<p align="center"><span style="color:#666666;font-family:Verdana;"><strong> E o preocupante, de acordo com Rosina, é justamente a variedade de alimentos que levam esse tipo de gordura, porque eles acabam sendo ingeridos por crianças, jovens, adultos e idosos. &#8220;As pessoas estão sendo enganadas. Acreditam que estão comendo algo que faz bem, ou não faz tão mal para a saúde. E, na verdade, é justamente o oposto&#8221;, diz.<br />

<strong>A gordura hidrogenada é uma gordura vegetal que foi criada pela indústria para ser uma alternativa à gordura saturada, a do bacon, da lingüiça, da picanha, etc. Mas como não existe gordura vegetal no mundo, somente óleos, foi criado, então, um processo de transformação desses óleos vegetais em gordura sólida.<br />
</strong><br />
<strong>Aí começa o problema. Os óleos são colocados em uma câmara com gás hidrogênio, &#8211; daí o nome hidrogenada &#8211; com alta pressão e alta temperatura e o resultado não seria bem visto &#8211; e muito menos comido &#8211; por ninguém.<br />

<strong>Os óleos se transformam em uma pasta preta, com mau cheiro, que precisa ser alvejada, para ficar sem cor e desodorizada, para ficar sem cheiro. &#8220;Ela deixa tudo crocante porque solidifica nos alimentos após a fritura, formando uma casquinha. Isso acontece também nos vasos que ficam impedidos de dilatar&#8221;, esclarece a endocrinologista.<br />

<strong>Por isso, de acordo com a médica, está se tornando comum esportistas jovens sofrerem parada cardíaca durante a prática de qualquer esporte. &#8220;Durante a atividade física, o fluxo sangüíneo aumenta, mas o vaso não dilata para a passagem do sangue. É quando ocorre o infarto&#8221;.<br />

<strong>Alguns alimentos que contêm gordura hidrogenada: Biscoitos: Praticamente todos, principalmente os recheados e os wafers; Chips: Batata-frita. Tanto as de pacote quanto as de fast-food; Tortas e bolos: Prontos e semi-prontos (ficam bem fofos); Pães: Principalmente os de massa doce; Sorvete: A grande maioria, até os light.<br />

<strong>O sorvete higrogenado é mais espumoso; Chocolate: Cuidado com os diet, são os piores; Leite: Os achocolatados prontos; Margarina: Quanto mais dura pior. Fast-food: Usam essa gordura para todas as frituras porque fica crocante; Requeijão: Os muito cremosos; Pipoca de microondas; temperos prontos em tabletes ou em pó.<br />

<strong>Discussão no Primeiro Mundo</strong></span></p>
<p align="center"><span style="color:#666666;font-family:Verdana;"><strong>As conseqüências do consumo desenfreado de gordura hidrogenada são pouco divulgadas no Brasil. O mesmo, porém, não tem ocorrido nos países desenvolvidos. Em 1994, epidemiologistas da Universidade de Harvard atribuíram ao consumo da gordura hidrogenada até 100 mil mortes prematuras por ano nos Estados Unidos.</strong></span></p>
<p align="center"><span style="color:#666666;font-family:Verdana;"><strong><strong>Desde essa época eles pediram ao Foods and Drugs Administration (FDA) &#8211; órgão regulador de alimentos e medicamentos dos EUA &#8211; alterações nos rótulos nutricionais que informassem aos consumidores quanto de gordura Trans continha cada alimento.</strong></strong></span></p>
<p align="center"><span style="color:#666666;font-family:Verdana;"><strong><strong> Nada foi feito a respeito.<br />
Cientistas relacionaram o consumo dessa gordura vegetal a doenças metabólicas, ou à chamada Síndrome Metabólica &#8211; aumento da cintura abdominal, diabetes tipo 2, alterações dos lipídeos sangüíneos, hipertensão arterial e esteatose hepática (fígado gorduroso).<br />

A descrição dessa síndrome &#8211; inicialmente chamada de Quarteto da Morte, em 1984 &#8211; coincide com o início do uso maciço dos hidrogenados pela indústria alimentícia americana.<br />
</strong><br />
<strong>O epidemiologista-chefe da Escola de Medicina de Harvard, Walter Willet, diz no site www.transfreeamerica.org, que hidrogenados na alimentação foi o maior desastre da história alimentícia nos EUA. Resultou numa epidemia de obesidade e demais doenças.<br />
</strong><br />
<strong>Em 2001, foi divulgado um estudo &#8211; feito em 84 mil enfermarias, durante 14 anos &#8211; no qual ficou confirmado que a principal gordura relacionada ao Diabetes e ao aumento do colesterol e triglicerídios era a hidrogenada.<br />
</strong><br />
<strong>No ano seguinte, cientistas americanos pediram um novo estudo. Queriam que ficasse claro quanto de gordura hidrogenada uma pessoa poderia consumir por dia, sem prejudicar sua saúde. O resultado foi surpreendente: zero. Há relatos também da associação de hidrogenados com vários tipos de câncer.&#8221;<br />
